THE MOST ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT TO WORSHIP

Psalm 51:15-17 15 O Lord, open my lips, And my mouth shall show forth Your praise. 16 For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.

Possessing good skills as a worshipper is very essential, but skill alone does not produce a perfect result when it comes to Spiritual activities.

I have witnessed great lyrics to a song crucified by skilful singers, because they lacked the most important ingredient called “humility.”

We can be more skilful than Ludwig van Beethoven, but if we lack the humility to listen to God when he speaks, then there is no way our gift can leave any lasting impact on the lives of people.

We cannot worship truthfully with the mindset that we can predict every move of God. But that is not to say we must not have expectations when we come before God.

Don’t think you know it all when you stand before God.

Don’t resist God from taking control of your faculties.

God does not just desire our skills. He requires that we surrender our total will to Him. That is when we can say we are worshippers.
