ARE WE READY FOR DEVELOPMENT?

I wake up everyday and I am greeted with unruly behaviour, as well as some unnecessary and unethical utterances by some of our politicians and most of our radio and television presenters (media houses).
We waste time prioritizing and talking about issues that will bring minimal or no benefit to this nation.
Take for example the purchase of Linkedin by Microsoft for $26.2bn.
That news was announced ones by the BBC and anybody wanting to revisit it had to log on to their website to read more.
On the contrary, it took Ghanaian media houses over three (3) weeks in the month of June to discuss a Ford expedition vehicle worth an estimated $100,000, that was gifted to the then Vice-President John Mahama in 2012 by a Burkinabe contractor amidst all manner of disrespectful comments and name callings.
To make matters worse, there was no conclusion to that matter, but everybody is gone back to sleep without providing any solution on how to handle the Giver or Receiver of that gift.
Ghanaians have become expects in talking, but very deficient when it comes to acting on their words.
A "SLEEPING SOCIETY" can't see any development!
As a nation chasing development, It is time to rise up and think like Ghanaians by putting aside partisan politics, when it comes to developing this country.
Most of us have become so weak in our thinking that we tend to read political meanings into every comment made by any well meaning Ghanaian.
Where did we learn these infantile behaviour from?
We have power crisis staring us in the face, corruption glaring at us with a smile, our women dying during childbirth, huge potholes on our roads, nepotism/favouritism in employment and many more challenging issues that needs immediate attention to deal with as a country.
Until we begin to rise up and demand accountability from the people we put in the various public offices, this country will keep going round in circles without experiencing any meaningful development.
We have slept and spoken about issues as if we are expects in all fields for far too long, let us begin to expedite some action to move this country from the miry clay.
Remember many have laid down their lives for us to see the Ghana we see today, what good are you also doing for generations to come?
A word to the wise....
