GHANA & AFRICA CAN WORK
My heart bleeds anytime I hear "political fanatics" making noise in the neighbourhood with statements like "It's my government or party that's in power"
Unfortunately for us as Africans, we have lived all our lives believing one political party or another possesses all the power to transform our destinies overnight; without us taking responsibility for our lives or demanding results from the people we put in-charge of our rich resources.
I sometimes wonder who handed over that deception to us at no cost.
Why have we allowed ourselves to be blinded and buried in the grave of politics, that we can't even pursue national development?
Our politicians have managed to sell their consciences to the PHD (Pull Him Down) syndrome; were opposition parties can embark on years of fast, just for the purposes of ensuring the ruling party or government fails miserably for them (opposition party) to be given the chance by electorates to come and rule.
Governments of the day have sometimes also deny the best brains in the land the opportunity to contribute their expertise in helping shape African countries, all in the name of avoiding been seen as incompetent.
We have failed to invest in the most important resource at our disposal (Our people).
Education in Africa in Africa is gradually becoming a reserve for the rich in the land...employment is now not necessarily for the one with the right qualification...instead employment is now for the one with the highest network of friends or family relations in high positions in organizations.
I dare say our African leaders are not willing to sacrifice their lives to ensure the continent becomes better; we keep hearing stories of African leaders looting and sharing the very resources they are expected to use in helping enrich the lives of the people they lead.
I throw a challenge to the next generation of African leaders to stand up and be counted by distinguishing themselves, because our current leaders have failed us.
African Leaders, please begin to concern yourselves with what will better the lives of the people you are leading, instead of leading your people into slavery in the name of signing bonds or agreements that end up having no positive impact.
The Chinas, Singapores, Japans were all built by human-beings like you, who decided to relegate their selfish interests to the background and consider nation building first, so it is possible to transform the fortunes of this continent.
Our future and greatest wealth is our people, let's unite them and forge ahead rather than dividing them with politics.
To be continued...
